Rope & Lifelines
Safety rope and lifelines define the boundary between shallow and deep water — one of the most important passive safety features in any pool. The safety rope spans the pool at the 5-foot depth transition, provides a handhold for struggling swimmers, and creates a visual boundary that keeps weak swimmers in their depth range. Aquamentor carries safety rope, lifeline hardware, and accessories for commercial pool applications.
Safety Rope Standards
ANSI/NSPI and most state health codes require a safety rope at the transition point between shallow and deep water in public pools. The rope must be brightly colored, clearly visible from the deck, and capable of supporting the weight of a person in distress. Float style, spacing, and end hardware specifications vary by applicable code.
Float Configurations and Hardware
Safety rope systems use buoyant disc floats spaced along a rope or cable, similar to lane lines but configured for passive safety use. Stainless steel end anchors, wall bolts, and tensioning hardware complete a full safety rope installation. Custom lengths for non-standard pool widths are available — contact us with your dimensions.
